Produce Art is seeking an experienced Fresh Produce Inspector to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, quality, and safety of fruit and vegetable produce across our supply chain, from farm to market.

Salary range : $75,000 to $85,000 per Annum
Task & responsibilities
- Inspect plants and agricultural produce, including fruits and vegetables, to detect quality issues and ensure compliance with standards.
- Audit storage, processing, and packing facilities to verify hygiene and quality assurance procedures.
- Test produce samples for quality, size, purity, and compliance with industry and export regulations.
- Inspect, classify, and grade fruit produce to meet regulatory and market requirements
- Complete the electronic or paper based QA records
- Provide advice to primary producers on pest and disease control, economic impacts of disease eradication, and regulatory compliance.
- Advise on the grading, packing, loading, and safe transportation of agricultural products.
- Examine imported produce and plant materials, implementing appropriate quarantine procedures when needed.
Qualification & experience
Minimum Qualification:
- Diploma or higher qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Science, or related field.
- 2 years of relevant experience in agricultural inspection, food safety, or quality control.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian quarantine, pest and disease regulations, and primary industry standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with farmers, producers, and regulatory bodies.
- Practical knowledge of hygiene protocols and sampling procedures in food production and logistics environments.
Preferred Qualification:
- On-the-job training in produce inspection or prior experience in regulatory compliance environments.
- Familiarity with national and international food quality standards (e.g., HACCP, Codex Alimentarius).
- Experience in providing training or public education in agriculture or food safety topics.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for data entry, reporting, and compliance documentation.
