Task & responsibilities

Tasks & Responsibilities – Field Mechanical Engineer

  • Design & Planning: Develop new products with focus on Curtis Engineering control systems, Nexsys motive power, and ZF vertical power assisted transmissions.
  • Testing & Compliance: Conduct product testing, ensure compliance with Australian Standards (AS ISO 22915 replacing AS 2359), and maintain proper documentation.
  • Maintenance Programs: Prepare and document preventive and corrective maintenance programs using Simpro software.
  • Hydraulic Systems: Perform hydraulic inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Controller Installation: Install, program, and diagnose Curtis Engineering controllers using Curtis handheld programmer.
  • Cost Optimisation: Identify cost-saving opportunities without affecting product quality or operational performance.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with production, finance, and other departments to ensure project alignment with internal requirements and budgets.

Qualification & experience

  1. Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical) required 
  2. 1 years full time relevant work experience required. 

Required skills

  • Mechanical systems knowledge (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials)
  • Design and drafting (CAD, engineering drawings)
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards
  • Site supervision and field work
  • Inspection and quality assurance
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Safety compliance and OHS knowledge
  • Communication skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Adaptability to varied environments

  • Good understanding of Curtis and curtis programming
