MPDT have positions available for experienced commercial mower operators to join our team in Cairns.
To be successful in this role, you must have prior experience as a commercial mower operator and must be willing to work away. If you do not have prior experience and tickets, and you are unable to work away, please do not apply
The role
You will be an essential part of our vegetation maintenance crews, safely operating specialised equipment to maintain vegetation along road, rail and public spaces.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, tasks such as tractor slashing, mowing, weed control, herbicide spraying, weed identification, daily reporting, and site assessments.
You will also be accountable for maintaining safe working practices and achieving quality work standards.
About you
Be a confident self-starter that is safety conscious and willing to develop and grow your capabilities.
Have prior experience as a commercial mower operator and have the below:
Qualifications / Experience
HR truck license - Highly Desirable
ACDC license - Highly Desirable
Traffic Control Tickets - Highly Desirable
Queensland Rail Qualifications - Highly Desirable
General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Manual car license
Tractor and slasher tickets
Experience in weed identification
Experience & knowledge in use of handling agriculture chemicals
Experience with equipment operations & maintenance (zero turn mowers, tractor slashers, brush-cutters)
Ability to pass a police check
MPDT will provide any additional and ongoing training that may be required.
Starting wages are above industry award with travel, skills and living away allowances paid.
