Our Engagement, Media and Events team is a beehive of activity, organising and delivering a wide range of events and community engagement activities throughout the entirety of our council.

We now have a newly created position for a great all-rounder to provide essential administrative, logistical, and promotional support for the smooth planning and delivery of supported events and community engagement activities.

Reporting to the Unit Manager of Engagement, Media and Events, as our new Events and Engagement Support Officer you will contribute to our team's capacity by assisting with event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and marketing support, including content creation.

As someone who thrives in a fast paced and varied environment, you will be across both operational and administrative functions with key deliverables that include but are not limited to the following.

• Providing administrative support for event planning and delivery including invoicing and supplier liaison

• Coordinating event logistics, permits, supplier coordination, and risk management.

• Supporting on-site event operations, including setup, pack-down, and stakeholder coordination.

• Developing and implement social media content to promote events and engagement activities.

• Developing marketing collateral, content for websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.

• Coordinating door-knocking activities to gather community feedback and raise awareness of projects.

To be considered for this role you will need to be a self-starter with strong organisational and administrative skills and capable of juggling multiple tasks.

Prior experience in events/community engagement where you also assisted with their marketing and communications is highly beneficial. As such, capabilities in social media and digital content creation through your familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools will be well regarded. A background working in local government or in community-based roles may be viewed as beneficial.

While this is a 0.6 three day a week role (Friday and two other days to be agreed) you may have to work flexible hours from time to time, including some evenings and weekends. You will need to have a driver’s license.

This is a great role for someone that has events/administration/marketing related experience who is looking for a permanent part-time role in a good team culture with activities galore to keep you busy.
