Diploma Educator (Child Care Worker)

SMALL WORLD PTY LTD t/a Monash Preschool and Early Learning is a family-owned and operated early childhood education centre committed to providing high-quality care and learning experiences that support each child’s development in a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment. We are currently seeking a full-time Diploma Educator (Child Care Worker) to join our team, with the role based in Wentworthville, NSW. This position is 38 hours per week, and the ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience and hold diploma qualification in early childhood education and care. A competitive salary of $77,064 plus superannuation, is on offer.

Task & responsibilities

• Work directly with children, including being counted in staff–child ratios.
• Assist in preparing materials and setting up equipment for educational and recreational activities.
• Prepare and conduct structured and play-based activities for children that support their learning and development.
• Guide children's social development and support behaviour management strategies.
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor recreational play.
• Maintain supervision throughout the children’s daily routines, including rest periods, meals, and toileting.
• Supervise and support children’s hygiene practices, including hand washing and toileting routines.
• Read stories, sing, and engage in games and activities to entertain and stimulate children
• Work in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and the National Quality Standard.
• Uphold the service’s philosophy, Code of Ethics, and Code of Conduct in all duties.
• Support the implementation of evidence-based, contemporary early childhood education practices.
• Promote and uphold privacy, confidentiality, and Work Health and Safety standards.
• Provide support to colleagues across all areas of the service and contribute positively to the team environment.
• Undertake additional relevant duties as requested by the Director.
