Blue Water Bar and Grill (10 Santa Barbara Road, Hope Island, QLD 4212), is a much-admired dining establishment regarded as a well-loved favourite venue in the Hope Island area offering an upmarket feel, with delightful views. Now seeking to fill a critically important chef role, we offer a convivial work environment and the opportunity to continue to develop the skills of an already qualified and skilled chef. 

About the Role

This is a busy position in a substantial venue with an enviable reputation for quality meals. it's a full-time position and you will be required across the week.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, guide and inspire our kitchen team to deliver the best results

Supervise, and participate in, the preparation of all food items

Manage kitchen consumables, stock takes, ordering, cost control and budgeting

In consultation with all the Management team, develop, test, and introduce new menu items

Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards

Work alongside the Restaurant Manager as required

About You

You have a passion for the hospitality industry and are up to date on techniques and food trends. You can demonstrate an unwavering commitment to flavour and presentation of the highest quality, whilst aligning and motivating a cohesive and hardworking team environment. Ideally you wll have strong expertise across an eclectic and varied meal offer.


Qualification & experience

To be successfully considered, you:

Possess excellent relevant post-secondary qualifications, to at least a hospitality related CertificateIV/Diploma level. 

Have at least 2 to 3 years professional experience since earning your qualifications.

Are available across the working week including late shifts as may be necessary from time to time.

Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.

Possess a through understanding of food safety OH&S and HACCP.

Understand cost control, time management, prioritisation, and cost-efficient procurement practices.

Have substantial experience working in a similar role. 

Be an excellent people manager able to get the most out of your team.

Well versed in a broad cuisine offer across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and beyond

Unrestricted rights to work full-time in Australia
