Chef

As OSR Group Pty Ltd t/a Windsor Function Centre we are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in preparing a variety of cuisines, maintaining high food quality and presentation standards, and ensuring a clean, safe kitchen environment. You will be responsible for planning menus, managing inventory, and working closely with kitchen staff to deliver excellent dining experiences.

Task & responsibilities

•  Preparing  for  service, which  includes ensuring  the  kitchen  is well  stocked with  the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food. 

•  Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff. 

•  Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen. Ensuring Occupation Health and Safety is met at all times. 

•  Creating new dishes and planning menus in consultation with managers.  Estimating final costs applicable to any events . 

•  Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation. 

•  Hiring and training junior chefs. 

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III- IV in Commercial Cookery preferred
• At least 1 years of experience in a similar role
• Good and effective communication skills  to be able  to pass  ideas  across to kitchen  staff and also understand what exactly customers want. 
• Good leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team. 
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities in pressing situations. 
• Good time management skills to complete most tasks and meet set targets. 
• Must be creative and proactive in attending to the various needs of customers.  
• A respectable knowledge of food handling and environmental sanitation standards. 
• Any other form of certification in catering would be of added advantage.
