The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, assembling, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials, in alignment with custom joinery and cabinetry solutions. The role supports the workshop and onsite delivery of high-end residential and commercial projects, ensuring precision, functionality, and superior craftsmanship.

Duties:
- Reading and interpreting detailed plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine specifications and layout.
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and wood substitute products using hand and power tools with high accuracy.
- Constructing frameworks for walls, floors, doors, windows, and roofs.
- Installing internal and external fit-out elements including cabinetry, shelves, partitions, staircases, and other joinery products.
- Building formwork for concrete slabs and footings when required for built-in installations.
- Fitting and securing fixtures such as hinges, locks, handles, and brackets to assembled joinery.
- Repairing or replacing damaged joinery or woodwork, including sanding, planing, and refinishing surfaces as needed.
- Ensuring work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborating with joiners, cabinet makers, and site managers to meet project specifications and timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent quality and finish across all carpentry and joinery projects in both workshop and site environments.
- Maintain clean and safe workspaces both in the workshop and on installation sites.
- Coordinate with project managers and designers to ensure seamless translation of design into construction.
- Maintain and safely operate all carpentry tools, machines, and equipment.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and adhere to all WHS procedures and site regulations.
- Assist with the delivery, unloading, and assembly of joinery components onsite.
- Manage materials usage to reduce waste and support sustainable building practices.
- Maintain a professional and respectful approach when dealing with clients, suppliers, and team members.
Qualification & experience
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent
- Current and valid driver's license.
- Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience or a closely related field
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed design documentation.
- Knowledge of Australian building standards and codes.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
