Task & responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine dimensions, materials, and installation procedures.
• Order, prepare, and select timbers and other materials with precision.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and related materials using both hand and power tools.
• Construct framework, roof framing, sub-flooring, and floorboards to meet structural requirements.
• Install doors, windows, frames, flooring, and decorative finishes.
• Fit exterior wall cladding, nail fascia panels, and sheath roofs.
• Assemble and install wooden structures and fittings.
• Construct concrete formwork as needed.
• Cut and shape joints for assembling wooden structures and fittings.
• Perform renovations and repairs on existing structures and fittings.
• Work with diverse materials, including wood, plywood, wallboard, laminates, perspex, and metals.
• Ensure all carpentry work complies with building codes and safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and team members to complete projects on time.

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry + minimum 1 year of on-the-job training, OR AQF Certificate IV in Carpentry (or related field).
• Proven experience as a Carpenter.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, construction methods, and materials.
• Skilled in safe and effective use of various hand and power tools.
• Flexible to work on a rotating roster and adaptable to project requirements.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
