We’re looking for a reliable, friendly and well-organised Canteen Manager to run the school canteen at Narraweena Public School during NSW school terms.  

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a warm and engaged community, make a real impact on students’ school experience, and lead a happy, healthy food environment.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the canteen, including:

• Managing food preparation and service  

• Leading volunteers and ensuring smooth daily operations  

• Ordering stock and maintaining supplies  

• Handling basic financial tasks such as reconciliation and reporting  

• Designing menus that align with NSW Department of Education’s Nutrition in Schools policy  

• Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met  

You’ll report directly to the Narraweena Public School P&C Association and be supported by a committee that values collaboration and community spirit.

About You

• You have experience in food handling or hospitality (desirable but not essential)  

• You’re great with people and can lead a team of volunteers with confidence and kindness  

• You’re organised, dependable, and have a passion for healthy food  

• You have, or are willing to get, relevant certifications (e.g. Working With Children Check, food safety training)

Remuneration

• Pay level: Level 3 – Fast Food Industry Award 2010 (MA000003)  

• Casual rate: $34.90/hr  

• Part-time or full-time rate: $27.92/hr  

• School term-only role – enjoy school holidays off!
