Our Client in Tooradin requires the services of an experienced Baker.

Position Overview:

The Baker is responsible for preparing and baking a wide range of bread, rolls, loaves, and other baked goods in accordance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and customer preferences. The role requires the ability to follow recipes, operate baking equipment, and maintain high levels of cleanliness and efficiency in a commercial kitchen or bakery environment.

Task & responsibilities

  • Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.
  • Kneading, molding, shaping, and proofing dough to prepare various types of baked goods.
  • Operating baking machinery such as mixers, ovens, and dough dividers.
  • Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to ensure proper baking.
  • Adjusting oven temperatures, baking times, and product formulation as necessary.
  • Decorating and finishing baked items with icing, glazes, or other toppings when required.
  • Ensuring all products meet food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
  • Cleaning and maintaining baking equipment and work areas.
  • Receiving and storing ingredients and supplies according to FIFO and food safety principles.
  • Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
  • Staying updated with industry trends and customer preferences.

Qualification & experience

  • Certificate III in Baking or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience (can substitute formal qualification).
  • Knowledge of WHS and HACCP principles is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and food preparation.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and produce consistent results.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with commercial baking equipment.
  • Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
