We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant (General) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Task & responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial and budgetary policies.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for stakeholders including management, boards, shareholders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct audits and financial assessments, offering expert advice on business acquisitions, mergers, capital structuring, taxation matters, and fraud investigations.
  • Analyse operational expenses and revenue streams to assess financial performance.
  • Ensure financial statements are accurate and comply with statutory and regulatory standards.
  • Advise on optimal business structures, financial planning, and taxation strategies.
  • Complete and lodge tax returns for individuals and corporate entities.
  • Coordinate with banks and financial intermediaries to establish and manage investment and funding arrangements.
  • Implement and oversee accounting systems, including guidance on selecting and using digital accounting platforms.
  • Monitor and strengthen internal financial controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Evaluate the financial viability and risk exposure of proposed capital investments.
  • Deliver services related to financial, non-financial, and sustainability reporting, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
  • Provide strategic advice on record-keeping practices and accounting system design for associations and businesses.
  • Investigate financial activities, compile detailed reports, and manage insolvency proceedings where applicable.


Qualification & experience

  • Qualifications in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Strong Written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong numeracy and a sound knowledge of accounting practices.
  • Exceptional time management
