Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, cook, and present dishes across different kitchen sections while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Work alongside the head chef in developing menus, including seasonal specials and new recipes.
• Lead and support kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during preparation and service.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards throughout all stages of food handling.
• Keep track of stock levels, check the quality of deliveries, and liaise with suppliers when necessary.
• Organise mise en place and daily workflows to ensure the kitchen runs efficiently during peak hours.
• Monitor food storage, rotation, and portion control to reduce waste and maintain cost effectiveness.
• Ensure the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned, maintained, and ready for service at all times.
• Work with management to improve efficiency and maintain high culinary standards.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff, encouraging teamwork and professional growth.

About You:

• Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience in a similar role
• Certificate III or IV or Diploma in Commercial Cookery
• Strong understanding of food handling and hygiene standards
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays
