Task & responsibilities

• Managing the overall daily operations of the ice cream store to ensure efficient service delivery and smooth business operations.
• Planning and coordinating staffing requirements, preparing rosters and supervising employees to maintain appropriate service levels.
• Recruiting, training and supervising retail staff, including monitoring performance and providing ongoing guidance.
• Monitoring sales performance, reviewing financial reports and implementing strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Managing stock levels, forecasting product requirements and coordinating orders for ice cream, ingredients, packaging and other retail supplies.
• Liaising with suppliers and distributors to ensure timely deliveries, product availability and cost-effective purchasing arrangements.
• Developing and implementing promotional activities, seasonal offers and merchandising strategies to attract customers and increase sales.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service, resolving customer concerns and implementing improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Overseeing product presentation, store displays, cleanliness and overall store appearance in accordance with company standards.
• Monitoring operational expenses, stock wastage and inventory discrepancies to improve cost control and business efficiency.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety requirements, workplace health and safety procedures and relevant retail operating regulations.
• Establishing and maintaining store operating procedures, including cash handling, stock management, opening and closing activities.
• Reviewing customer feedback, sales trends and operational performance to identify opportunities for business improvement.
• Preparing regular operational, sales, inventory and staff performance reports for senior management.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum Diploma in Business, Business Management, Retail Management or a closely related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in retail management, store supervision or a similar position.
• Demonstrated ability to manage daily retail operations, staff and customer service activities.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, stock ordering, sales monitoring and retail business procedures.
• Ability to supervise, train and motivate employees in a customer-focused environment.
• Good organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and retail compliance requirements will be highly regarded.
• Previous experience in ice cream retail, food retail or hospitality-related store management will be advantageous.
