We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused General Manager of Finance to join CVS Vets Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic financial leadership across the organisation, ensuring strong financial governance, commercial performance and effective financial planning. Working closely with the executive leadership team, the General Manager of Finance will play a key role in supporting business strategy, driving financial performance and ensuring the organisation has the financial capability and controls required to support its ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation’s finance function, providing strategic financial advice and commercial insight to the executive leadership team.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Develop and deliver financial strategies aligned with broader organisational objectives.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to support strategic and commercial decision-making.
• Monitor financial performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and recommend appropriate actions.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting and statutory obligations.
• Maintain appropriate financial governance, internal controls and risk management frameworks.
• Oversee cash flow, treasury, taxation, audit and compliance requirements.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation to support business performance and operational decision-making.
• Lead, develop and mentor the finance team, creating a high-performing and collaborative function.
• Support business growth initiatives, investment decisions and other strategic projects as required.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes, reporting and controls.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced senior finance leader with a strong combination of technical financial expertise, commercial acumen and leadership capability.

You will ideally bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Significant experience in a senior finance leadership position, ideally within a complex or multi-site organisation.
• Demonstrated experience in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, governance, risk and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with executive and senior operational stakeholders.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.

The Opportunity

Employment: Full-time, permanent

Salary: $200,000 – $210,000 per annum + superannuation
