Syculy Lab Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis at our restaurant in Findon, Adelaide, South Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality Italian cuisine, maintaining consistent food standards, and supporting the efficient operation of the kitchen.

Task & responsibilities

• Supervising portion control and qualities of food preparation to minimize waste.
• Arranging purchase, procurement, and pricing of goods/stock accordingly to company budget, in consultation with restaurant managers and management.
• Maintaining records of financial transaction ensuring conformance to budgetary requirements an overall performance improvement. 
• Quality assurance.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the management to carry out restaurant operations in an efficient and competent manner ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.
• Planning and organizing preparation and cooking of food at our restaurant.
• Planning of menus in consultation with the restaurant manager and owners of the business as appropriate. The menu planning will take place regularly and will include planning of specials available at our restaurant. This planning will take into account seasonal availability of fresh produce and pricing if the same. 
• Estimating costing specifically for various menu options and be responsible for estimating general food and labour costs throughput the restaurant. 
• Be responsible for ensuring food supplies are ordered appropriately business and efficiency.
• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and wait staff.
• Directing and monitoring staff involved in food preparation.
• Ensuring high level of quality of dishes, I being produced at all stages of preparation and cooking through monitoring of the process, tasting the dishes as necessary and correcting level of flavoring through directing staff. 
• Ensuring presentation of all dishes going out to the patrons is at the level expected. 
• Demonstrating techniques and showing cooking procedures to kitchen staff. 
• Preparing and cooking of food.
• Ensuring cleaning procedures are carries out following HACCP Standards. 

Qualification & experience

Requirements

• Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery, a Diploma of Hospitality Management, or an equivalent relevant qualification. At least three years of relevant work experience as Chef may substitute for formal qualifications.
• At least three years of relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen, preferably with experience in Italian cuisine.
