About the Role
The successful candidate will perform welding and fabrication work, ensuring finished products meet specifications, quality standards and workplace safety requirements.
Key Duties
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and welding specifications.
- Measure, mark, cut and prepare metal components for welding.
- Set up and operate welding equipment using processes appropriate to the materials and job requirements.
- Weld, assemble and fabricate metal components and structures.
- Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength and defects.
- Grind, finish and repair welded components as required.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools and a clean work area.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment.
- Work with team members to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- At least one year of relevant welding experience.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work accurately to specifications.
- Sound knowledge of welding techniques, equipment and safe work practices.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
