Position: Chef

• Permanent full time position
• 38 hours per week
• $80,000 per year + superannuation
• Eastern Suburb, close to the bus station

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Japanese cuisine, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment. You will play an important role in preparing and delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining excellent food, hygiene, and kitchen standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and cooking dishes according to our menu and recipes
• Maintaining consistently high food quality and presentation
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are followed
• Assisting with daily kitchen operations and preparation
• Monitoring stock levels and minimising food wastage
• Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
• Contributing to a positive and professional team environment

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 1 year of full-time experience working as a Chef, preferably specialising in Japanese or Asian cuisine
• A relevant commercial cookery qualification, such as Certificate IV or higher, or an equivalent overseas qualification
• Proven experience working in a busy commercial kitchen
• A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards
• The ability to remain organised and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and split shifts

This is a full-time position, with shifts scheduled between 10:00 am and 9:00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, depending on business requirements.
