A Western Australian industrial services provider based in Landsdale, is seeking a  Mechanical Engineering Technician/ Electrical Engineering Technician to join its growing team on a full-time basis.

Position Overview:

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

The Mechanical Engineering Technician will be responsible for supporting engineers in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems and projects. This role requires the technician to apply technical expertise in mechanical engineering, including plant, machinery, and equipment. The technician will work closely with engineering teams to ensure systems meet specifications, safety standards, and performance requirements while assisting in troubleshooting and maintenance.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

The Electrical Engineering Technician will be responsible for assisting in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Working closely with electrical engineers, the technician will carry out tasks such as testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role will involve providing technical support for various electrical projects, ensuring all systems function optimally and meet both operational and regulatory requirements.

Task & responsibilities

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

  • Assist engineers in the design, modification and testing of mechanical plant for mining and processing operations.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications and scopes of work using CAD software.
  • Inspect and test mechanical equipment, document results and recommend improvements.
  • Provide technical support during installation and modification works on shutdowns and maintenance programs.
  • Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collect and analyse condition monitoring and wear data to improve equipment reliability.
  • Prepare estimates of materials, labour and timeframes for mechanical scopes of work.
  • Maintain technical records and QA documentation in line with Australian Standards.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

  • Assist engineers in the design and modification of electrical and control systems for mining and processing plant.
  • Prepare and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications using CAD software.
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment, including HV/LV switchgear and motor control centres, and record results.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning and fault-finding on shutdowns and plant upgrades.
  • Analyse equipment performance data and recommend improvements to reliability.
  • Ensure systems comply with AS/NZS 3000, WA electrical safety regulations and client requirements.
  • Prepare estimates of materials, labour and timeframes for electrical scopes of work.
  • Compile QA documentation, including test records and as-built drawings.

Qualification & experience

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification recognised in Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician,
  • Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles, relevant Australian Standards and safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as [AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks].
  • Ability to read, interpret and prepare technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering,, or an equivalent qualification recognised in Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician
  • Sound knowledge of electrical principles, AS/NZS 3000 and WA electrical safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and CAD software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
