Job Description: Bakers Delight Bendigo-Marketplace is seeking a skilled and dedicated Baker to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of fresh bread and bakery products, maintaining consistent product quality and presentation, and following food safety and hygiene standards. The Baker will work closely with the team to support smooth daily production, ensure products are prepared to a high standard, and maintain a clean and organised work environment. Previous experience in a similar role and a passion for baking are essential.

Task & responsibilities

• Inspect the cleanliness and condition of equipment and production areas before commencing work to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Assess the quality and freshness of raw materials and accurately measure and weigh ingredients according to production requirements.
• Prepare and portion pastry fillings and other ingredients required for baking.
• Mix, knead, mature, cut, mould and shape dough and pastry products using appropriate techniques.
• Operate dough sheeting, moulding and biscuit-cutting machinery to produce products to the required specifications.
• Monitor oven temperatures, baking conditions and product appearance to determine appropriate baking times and ensure consistent quality.
• Coordinate the preparation, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of bread, rolls, pastries and other baked products.
• Apply glazes to buns and pastries and decorate cakes using cream, icing and other finishing materials.
• Clean, empty and grease baking trays, tins and other baking equipment to maintain proper hygiene and production standards.

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or equivalent work experience in related position.
• Minimum 1 year on expeirence in the related position.
• Strong knowledge of baking methods, ingredients, and bakery production processes.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail.
