Everlab is hiring a Chief of Staff to its co-founder and Chief Technology and Product Officer. Reporting directly to the CTPO, the position provides high-level strategic and operational support across the product and engineering organisation: it designs and runs the planning and operating rhythms, leads the highest-priority cross-functional initiatives, manages the resourcing, budgets, procedures and reporting through which the technology function is administered, and keeps leadership, board and investor stakeholders informed on product and technology progress. This is a senior, high-ownership role for an operator who has worked alongside founders or executives in a fast-moving environment and understands how software gets built.

Benefits

Hybrid working with three days a week in the Surry Hills office; Employee Share Option Plan as part of total remuneration; full access to the Everlab health programme after probation; a mission-driven team building the future of preventive health

Task & responsibilities

•  Designing, running and continuously improving the planning and operating cadence of the product and engineering organisation, including roadmap reviews, quarterly planning, OKR cycles and leadership check-ins, and ensuring decisions taken in those forums are converted into action

•  Providing strategic and operational support, research and advice to the Chief Technology and Product Officer and the wider executive team on the priorities, resourcing and performance of the technology function

•  Leading the CTPO's highest-priority cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through to completion, structuring ambiguous problems, assembling the right contributors and driving them to a decision

•  Coordinating the flow of work between product, engineering, clinical, operations and growth teams, identifying blockers and dependencies and holding owners accountable for delivery against agreed timelines

•  Developing and implementing the operational procedures and guidelines under which the product and engineering teams plan, prioritise, resource and report their work

•  Preparing hiring plans, team-structure proposals and resourcing recommendations for the technology organisation in consultation with the CTPO and the people function

•  Managing the technology organisation's operating budgets, tooling and vendor arrangements, including evaluating suppliers, negotiating terms and monitoring spend against plan

•  Analysing complex resource-management and organisational issues affecting product and engineering delivery and preparing the associated reports, options papers and recommendations for senior management

•  Preparing leadership, board and investor materials on product and technology progress, and managing the follow-up actions and commitments that arise from those forums

•  Establishing and maintaining the metrics, dashboards and reporting rhythms used to track delivery against the product roadmap and company objectives

•  Contributing headcount, capital-expenditure and operating-cost inputs to the technology function's financial forecasts and budget submissions

•  Representing the CTPO in internal forums and with external partners, vendors and advisers where required, and briefing the executive on outcomes and required decisions

•  Coordinating the administrative arrangements that support the technology organisation's growth, including team presence in the Surry Hills office and the establishment of teams in Melbourne and other locations

Qualification & experience

•  Bachelor degree in business, management, economics or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification in a related field is desirable

•  At least three years' professional experience combining a high-growth technology company with a structured environment such as management consulting, banking or a scale-up leadership team

•  Demonstrated experience running planning cycles and cross-functional programmes with minimal direction, ideally in direct support of a founder or senior executive

•  Working fluency with how software products are planned, built and shipped, and a track record of earning the confidence of product and engineering teams

•  Strong analytical and problem-structuring skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear plans, decisions and outcomes

•  Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of executive, board and investor materials

•  Experience managing budgets, vendors and resourcing decisions within a technology or operations function

•  Availability to work full-time from Everlab's Surry Hills office at least three days a week, with occasional interstate travel
