Hyperlink Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and technically capable Systems Analyst to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in analysing business and system requirements, reviewing existing ICT systems and processes, developing system specifications and recommending technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and business performance.

This position requires a combination of strong systems analysis capability, technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.

Task & responsibilities

The Systems Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Consulting with management, business stakeholders and end users to identify, analyse and document business and system requirements.
  • Analysing existing ICT systems, business processes, procedures and workflows to identify inefficiencies, limitations and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translating business requirements into detailed functional and technical system specifications.
  • Evaluating existing systems and recommending modifications, enhancements, additional system components or new ICT solutions.
  • Developing and documenting system workflows, process maps, functional specifications, data requirements and integration requirements.
  • Liaising with developers and other ICT professionals to ensure proposed solutions meet functional and operational requirements.
  • Assisting with the design, configuration, implementation and integration of software and business systems.
  • Developing system and user acceptance testing requirements and participating in testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Identifying, investigating and troubleshooting system issues and coordinating appropriate technical solutions.
  • Monitoring implemented systems and recommending improvements to system functionality, reliability and efficiency.
  • Supporting the integration of software applications and systems to streamline business processes and day-to-day operations.
  • Providing technical advice and support to users and relevant stakeholders.
  • Preparing and maintaining system documentation, technical specifications, procedures, user guides and training materials.
  • Assisting with system implementation, deployment and transition into operational environments.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders throughout the system development and implementation lifecycle.
  • Ensuring ICT solutions are developed and implemented in accordance with organisational requirements, relevant standards and industry best practices.
  • Performing other systems analysis and related ICT duties reasonably required by the business.

Qualification & experience

The successful applicant should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a closely related discipline.
  • Relevant professional experience in a Systems Analyst, ICT Business Analyst or comparable systems-focused position.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering, analysing and documenting business and system requirements.
  • Experience analysing existing systems, processes and workflows and recommending appropriate improvements.
  • Experience preparing functional and technical specifications.
  • Practical experience with system testing, implementation, integration and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of databases, software applications and contemporary ICT environments.
  • Experience working with technical teams, business stakeholders and end users.

Technical Skills

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge and experience across relevant areas such as:

  • Systems analysis and requirements gathering
  • Business process and workflow analysis
  • Functional and technical specifications
  • Systems integration
  • Software testing and quality assurance
  • Database concepts and SQL
  • Application troubleshooting and support
  • Technical documentation
  • Windows and/or Linux environments
  • Project lifecycle and system implementation methodologies

Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Java, C#, .NET, Python, C or C++ will be advantageous.
