AMBER TRANSPORT (WA) PTY LTD is seeking reliable and safety-focused Truck Drivers to join its transport operations in Western Australia. The successful candidate will operate heavy vehicles to transport goods between designated locations, ensuring freight is delivered safely, securely and on schedule.
The role involves vehicle inspections, safe loading and unloading, load restraint, route planning, delivery documentation and compliance with heavy-vehicle road, fatigue-management and workplace safety requirements. The driver will work independently while maintaining professional communication with dispatchers, customers and other personnel.

Task & responsibilities
- Operate heavy trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Manoeuvre vehicles into position for loading and unloading at depots, customer sites and delivery locations.
- Load and unload goods using appropriate lifting, loading or unloading equipment where required.
- Observe all safety requirements when loading, unloading and transporting freight.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and quality checks to ensure the truck is safe and roadworthy.
- Estimate and check load weights to comply with legal load limits and ensure safe weight distribution.
- Ensure goods are properly stowed, restrained and securely covered to prevent loss or damage during transport.
- Check freight and loading documentation and verify delivery details before departure.
- Obtain delivery confirmations, signatures or other required certification at delivery points.
- Complete pre-start checks, trip records, logbooks and other required transport documentation accurately.
- Plan routes and manage driving schedules to meet delivery requirements while complying with fatigue-management obligations.
- Report vehicle defects, breakdowns, incidents or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, warehouse staff and other road users.
- Follow company procedures, road transport legislation, workplace health and safety requirements and site-specific rules.
Qualification & experience
- AQF Certificate II or III, or equivalent relevant training and experience.
- At least 1 -3 years of relevant truck-driving experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
- Current and appropriate Australian heavy-vehicle licence for the truck operated.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Knowledge of heavy-vehicle road rules, fatigue management, load restraint and safe driving practices.
- Experience with loading, unloading, securing and transporting freight is highly regarded.
- Ability to conduct vehicle pre-start inspections and identify/report defects.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Good communication, reliability, time management and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain professional conduct while completing deliveries.
- Ability and willingness to work a minimum of 38 ordinary hours per week, with reasonable additional hours as required by operational needs.
- Registration or licensing is required for the relevant heavy vehicle.
