About the role

Shelford Constructions is seeking experienced Carpenters to join our construction team in Western Australia.

The successful applicants will undertake carpentry works across residential and commercial construction projects, including structural framing, installation of fixtures and fittings, external wall cladding, flooring, formwork, and general first and second fix carpentry. 

Key Responsibilities

• Study drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and installation requirements
• Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other construction materials
• Construct and erect timber and lightweight steel frameworks
• Install wall frames, floor structures, sub-flooring and floorboards
• Install exterior wall cladding, door frames and window frames
• Assemble and install prepared timber components, structures and fittings
• Complete first and second fix carpentry works
• Construct concrete formwork where required
• Repair and maintain existing structures, fixtures and fittings
• Verify structures are level, plumb, square and constructed according to plans and specifications
• Use carpentry hand and power tools safely and accurately
• Follow WHS requirements, SWMS and site safety procedures
• Work effectively with supervisors and other trades to meet construction schedules

Skills and Experience

• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification, or at least three years of relevant carpentry experience 
• Relevant carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction
• Demonstrated experience in structural framing and first and second fix carpentry
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong measuring, cutting, assembly and installation skills
• Experience with formwork, cladding and general structural carpentry desirable
• Construction Induction White Card
• Current driver’s licence desirable
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team

Employment Details

Full-time position

Location: Rockingham, WA, with work across various project sites as required within WA

Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 per annum plus superannuation
