We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team and assist with the preparation and cooking of our menu.

About the Role

The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking pasta dishes and other menu items while maintaining the quality, consistency and presentation expected by Pasta Hub customers. The position involves working in a busy commercial kitchen and requires the successful applicant to manage food preparation and cooking efficiently during both normal and peak trading periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pasta dishes, sauces, meats, vegetables and other menu items.
• Prepare ingredients including chopping, portioning, weighing and other kitchen preparation.
• Follow recipes and established preparation methods to maintain consistency.
• Monitor cooking times, temperatures, portion sizes and presentation.
• Prepare and cook orders efficiently during busy service periods.
• Ensure food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety requirements.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and assist with receiving and storing ingredients.
• Minimise food wastage through proper preparation, storage and portion control.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen.
• Follow workplace health and safety and food hygiene procedures.
• Assist other kitchen staff with daily preparation and service requirements.
• Maintain consistent food quality across dine-in and takeaway orders.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant must have:

• Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and/or Diploma of Hospitality Management, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Sound knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Ability to prepare pasta, sauces and other menu items to a consistent standard.
• Ability to follow recipes and portion requirements accurately.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage kitchen tasks during busy periods.

Experience in Italian cuisine, pasta preparation and high-volume takeaway food service will be highly regarded.
