Aster Health Group Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The successful applicant will assess and support clients experiencing functional limitations arising from illness, disability or developmental needs and provide occupational therapy interventions aimed at improving independence, functional capacity and participation in everyday activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, cognitive, psychosocial and functional capabilities using clinical observations and appropriate standardised assessment tools.
• Assess clients’ functional abilities within home, community, work, school and other relevant environments.
• Develop, implement, monitor and review individualised occupational therapy programs based on clients’ assessed needs, abilities and goals.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions and activities designed to improve clients’ independence and participation in daily activities.
• Assess clients’ environments and recommend appropriate modifications to improve safety, accessibility and functional performance.
• Assess clients’ assistive technology and adaptive equipment needs and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Provide advice and education to clients, family members, carers and other relevant stakeholders regarding strategies to support clients’ functional needs and independence.
• Work collaboratively with other health professionals and service providers in the assessment, treatment and ongoing case management of clients.
• Monitor and evaluate clients’ progress and adjust therapy programs and interventions where required.
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate clinical records and complete documentation in accordance with professional, legislative and ethical requirements.
• Provide occupational therapy advice and recommendations relevant to clients’ individual circumstances and support needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Occupational Therapy, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Relevant professional experience working as an Occupational Therapist.
• Demonstrated experience conducting functional assessments and developing individualised occupational therapy interventions.
• Experience assessing and recommending assistive technology, adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
• Sound clinical assessment, case management, report writing and documentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Sound understanding of professional, ethical and legislative requirements relevant to occupational therapy practice.

Location: Western Australia

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per annum + superannuation
