Chef – Full Time

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation

Full-time – 38 hours per week

Panlasang Pinoy is an established family-owned restaurant specialising in authentic Filipino cuisine. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team in Kogarah on a full-time basis.

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Filipino dishes, maintaining consistent food and presentation standards, assisting with menu planning, and supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Task & responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Planning and preparing menus and meals in accordance with recipes and restaurant quality standards
• Preparing, cooking and presenting a range of Filipino dishes
• Monitoring the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Monitoring food stock and placing orders as required
• Managing food storage, freezing and preservation to maintain freshness and minimise waste
• Working closely with management, kitchen and waiting staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations
• Training and mentoring kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food preparation and service
• Implementing and maintaining kitchen procedures and ensuring staff compliance
• Assisting with purchasing and monitoring stock levels

Qualification & experience

Qualifications and experience:

• Relevant commercial cookery qualification diploma or appropriate industry experience
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
• atleast 3 years of closely related experience will substitute for formal qualifications 
• Experience preparing Filipino cuisine is highly regarded
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
• Strong knowledge of food safety, quality and kitchen procedures
• Good communication, organisational and time-management skills
