We're looking for an experienced Software Developer to take a leading role on our Digital Asset Management platform. It's a hands-on role with real technical ownership, helping set the architecture, making design decisions, and supporting the developers around you. It suits someone who enjoys depth and precision, and solving problems that don't have an off-the-shelf answer.

Task & responsibilities

• Lead the development of our Digital Asset Management platform, built on Mediaflux
• Set technical direction and architecture for the platform's algorithms and data structures
• Design and develop software algorithms and data structures, primarily in Java
• Evaluate existing algorithms and methods to improve performance and reduce computational complexity
• Develop software using object-oriented design and construction principles
• Apply and, where appropriate, define design patterns across the platform
• Guide and review the work of other developers contributing to the platform
• Optimise application performance, including debugging, profiling and memory optimisation
• Manage code using the GIT revision control system
• Work with network protocols and integration technologies such as XML and JSON, and assess emerging technologies for use in the platform

Qualification & experience

You'll need strong Java and object-oriented design skills, solid experience designing and evaluating algorithms and data structures, and at least three years in software development. A degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field is expected, or equivalent industry experience.
