Brooklane Cafe is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to join our busy kitchen team in Ellenbrook.

This is a full-time position for a reliable and motivated Cook who takes pride in preparing fresh, consistently high-quality food and can work efficiently in a fast-paced cafe environment.

The successful applicant will work as part of our kitchen team preparing and cooking a range of breakfast, brunch and cafe-style dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and kitchen organisation.

Task & responsibilities

· Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast, brunch and cafe-style dishes.

· Prepare ingredients and undertake daily mise end place for service.

· Cook food according to established recipes, portion requirements and presentation standards.

· Ensure meals are prepared consistently and served within appropriate service times.

· Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation.

· Assist with receiving, storing and rotating food supplies.

· Monitor stock levels and minimise food wastage.

· Maintain clean and organised food preparation and cooking areas.

·  Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.

· Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

· Assist with maintaining appropriate food storage temperatures and practices.

· Work collaboratively with chefs, kitchen staff and front-of-house team members during service.

· Maintain consistent food quality during busy service periods.

·  Assist with general kitchen operations as required.

Qualification & experience

· Relevant commercial cookery qualification, preferably Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

· Previous experience working as a Cook in a cafe, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen environment.

· Practical knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.

· Good knife and food preparation skills.

· Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene requirements.

· Ability to follow recipes and maintain portion and presentation standards.

· Ability to organise daily preparation and manage competing priorities.

·  Ability to remain calm and productive during busy service periods.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

·  Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
