Task & responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the organisation's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless networks, internet connectivity and associated hardware and software to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal performance.
• Manage network security systems, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls and security monitoring.
• Monitor network performance, availability and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving infrastructure issues.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft 365, cloud services, Windows-based systems, ERP systems, file servers and associated IT infrastructure, including system administration, upgrades, performance optimisation, backup, recovery and security management.
• Maintain server and storage infrastructure, ensuring data security, availability and integrity through effective backup, access control and antivirus protection.
• Support technology improvement projects, including system integration, network expansion and infrastructure upgrades.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis and resolution of complex network and system issues.
• Perform upgrades or other network related activities.
• Maintain IT documentation, network records and operational procedures.
• Install, configure and maintain the company's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs and internet connectivity.
• Monitor network performance, system availability and server operations to support uninterupted buiness operations.

Qualification & experience

Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science

Proven experience in a similar role for at least 1-2 years

Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching

Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure

Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired

Ability to set up and configure server hardware

Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies

Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
