Brighton College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Trainer and Assessor – Community Services to join its Melbourne campus on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering effective training and assessment to students undertaking nationally recognised Community Services qualifications in accordance with approved course schedules, Training and Assessment Strategies, lesson plans and Brighton College's academic and compliance requirements.
The role involves training delivery, assessment and reassessment, student support, resource contextualisation, placement management, record keeping, compliance activities and continuous improvement while ensuring that training and assessment practices meet applicable VET regulatory requirements.
The allocated Community Services training stream includes:
- CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual Support
- CHC43015 – Certificate IV in Ageing Support
- CHC52021 – Diploma of Community Services

Task & responsibilities
- Deliver training and assessment in accordance with approved training and assessment strategies and block schedules.
- Provide leadership and coordination for the allocated management training stream.
- Contextualise and maintain training and assessment resources to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Conduct assessments, reassessments, and provide clear, compliant feedback to students.
- Support students to meet assessment requirements and course progression timelines.
- Manage and monitor student attendance, participation, and engagement.
- Maintain accurate training, assessment, and compliance records.
- Participate in validation, moderation, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with the VET Quality Framework, RTO Standards, ESOS Act, and National Code.
- Collaborate with trainers, compliance staff, and management as required.
Qualification & experience
- Minimum Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline (Community Services, Education, or related field).
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience delivering or assessing vocational education or adult learning programs.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
- Sound knowledge of the VET Quality Framework, assessment requirements, and compliance obligations.
- Strong communication, organisational, and documentation skills.
