Grey Ward Children's Centre is looking for a full-time Educator to join our team.

Benefits

The remuneration is AU$75,000-78,000 per annum exclusive of superannuation.

Task & responsibilities

- Building warm, respectful, and nurturing relationships with children, supporting their wellbeing, sense of belonging, and overall development.

- Assisting in preparing materials, equipment, and environments for children’s learning, recreational, and educational activities.

- Following the lead of room educators and helps implement planned learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

- Preparing, conducting, and participating in activities for children, including reading, games, and play-based learning experiences.

- Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and engagement at all times.

- Guiding children’s behaviour in a positive and supportive manner, promoting social, emotional, and developmental skills.

- Supporting children’s daily routines, including transitions, meals, rest periods, and hygiene practices.

- Following all service policies and procedures, including child protection, health and safety, and operational guidelines.

- Communicating respectfully and professionally with children, families, and colleagues to build positive relationships and support effective teamwork.

- Adapting to different rooms, age groups, and service needs with flexibility, professionalism, and a strong team-focused attitude.

- Maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical and professional standards in line with the ECA Code of Ethics.

- Working collaboratively with the team to ensure a clean, safe, organised, and welcoming environment for children and families.

- Responding positively to direction, guidance, and feedback from educators and leaders to ensure consistency and high-quality practice across the service.

Qualification & experience

Qualification

- Minimum AQF Diploma in Children’s Education and Care or equivalent, as recognised by licensing authorities.

Experience

- Minimum of 1 year of work experience as an educator in a childcare centre.

Other Requirements

- Child Protection Qualification

- Current First Aid Certificate

- Clear Working with Children Check

- Sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards

- Ability to work effectively within a team and engage positively with children and families
