The role:

The Demand Planner is responsible for ensuring accurate and reliable demand forecasts for Modern Star SKUs to meet KPIs and demand requirements. You will utilise Atlas APS, ERPs, and other business tools to develop demand forecasts, maintain product data, and monitor demand performance across the Modern Star Group. This role involves close coordination with the Modern Star Supply Planning Team to deliver on supply chain targets, and internal collaboration with category, sales, and marketing teams to align on business strategies. The primary objective is to ensure high quality demand plans that optimise SKU availability and inventory holdings to provide a continued customer focus.

Task & responsibilities

Demand Planning and Execution

•Develop demand forecasts: Utilise product data, historical sales data, market/seasonal trends, and statistical methods to create accurate demand forecasts.

•Review forecasts and sales performance: Analyse forecasts and sales performance across channels, categories, and SKUs as needed.

•Monitor demand impacts: Input & monitor demand impacts related to promotions, events, and other strategic objectives.

Inventory Management

•Maintain product information: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of product information in ERP & APS databases; including SKU information, descriptions, classifications, and attributes to support effective forecasting and inventory management.

•Collaboration: Work closely with category, sales, and marketing teams to align business strategies and processes. Communicate regularly with Supply Planning team to interpret supply-related impacts to the demand plan.

•Manage product lifecycle: Maintain product & kit lifecycle in our systems - including new, deleted, and substituted products.

•Reporting: Generate reports that contain detailed demand plans and highlight key outliers for effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Quality and Compliance

•Maintain compliance standards: Uphold high-quality compliance standards through the new item onboarding process.

•Support group strategy: Work with the Compliance Team as needed to support group strategy.

Business Culture

•Drive collaboration: Foster a collaborative approach with Supply Planning and other internal teams/departments.

•Promote continuous improvement: Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the planning team.• providing supply chain insights to support procurement and distribution decisions

• analysing supply chain risks and demand variability


Qualification & experience

Demonstrated experience in inventory, demand, and/or supply planning within a fast-paced or complex environment.

•Proficiency with ERP systems and statistical forecasting tools. Previous experience using ASW, Pronto and ATLAS Planning Platform is strongly preferred.

•Strong understanding of forecasting methodologies & best practices.

•Advanced Excel skills & comfort working with large datasets.

•Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

•Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

•Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

•Willingness to embrace change as business requirements evolve.

•Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in refining processes.

•Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
