About the Role
We are a premium artisan gelato business in the heart of Cooks Hill looking for an experienced gelato or dessert production specialist to take ownership of daily production.
You will be responsible for:
• Daily gelato production using professional equipment (Carpigiani Pastomaster, batch freezer and blast freezer)
• Maintaining the highest quality and consistency standards
• Working closely with the owners during the initial training phase
This is a hands-on production role with very limited front-of-house work. Training will begin in 1–2 weeks and will be full-time casual for the first 2–4 weeks before moving to the permanent 25-hour + part-time roster.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
• Previous experience in gelato, pastry, dessert or high-volume kitchen production
• A minimum of 1-2 years experience in gelato, pastry, dessert or kitchen production
• A genuine passion for quality food and a desire to learn artisan gelato making
• Reliability, attention to detail and pride in their work
• An aspirational mindset — someone who wants to grow with a business that has clear plans to expand to multiple sites across Greater Newcastle.
