About the Role
As a Placement Specialist, you will play a key role in managing and supporting nurses throughout their travel nursing contracts across regional, rural and remote Australia.

This is a fast moving and highly competitive industry. You will manage the ongoing placement journey of your nurses, balancing retention, problem solving, communication and fast decision making while competing in a market where opportunities move quickly.

We are a non-commission agency focused on relationships, not transactional recruitment.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Build genuine relationships and communicate confidently.

  • Can problem solve quickly and remain calm under pressure.

  • Can confidently manage multiple conversations, priorities and urgent requests at once.

  • Are proactive, organised and follow through consistently.

  • Can balance speed with strong judgement and attention to detail.

  • Are comfortable navigating challenging conversations and changing circumstances.

  • Can confidently make decisions in a fast paced and competitive environment.

  • Are resilient, adaptable and able to manage changing priorities throughout the day.

 Key Responsibilities

Candidate Relationship Management

  • Build genuine relationships and understand each nurse’s goals, preferences, availability and non negotiables.

  • Maintain regular communication with nurses throughout their contract journey.

  • Keep nurses informed at every step through proactive calls, texts and emails.

  • Support nurse retention through relationship management, responsiveness and ongoing placement support.

  • Manage challenging conversations and respond professionally to concerns, changes, cancellations or service issues.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to both nurses and hospital clients.

Placement Coordination & Delivery

  • Match nurses to roles that align with their skills, clinical experience and personal requirements.

  • Ensure strong clinical alignment and suitability for each contract opportunity.

  • Act quickly in a competitive market to secure suitable opportunities for your nurses.

  • Manage fast moving placement activity and respond quickly to urgent vacancies, changes and issues.

  • Maintain accurate candidate records and activity within internal systems.

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of clinical roles, hospital requirements and healthcare industry trends.

  • Manage competing priorities in a high volume, fast changing environment.

Internal Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support outcomes.

  • Stay commercially aware and focused on quality, speed and retention outcomes.

  • Share responsibility for the after-hours phone on a rotating basis.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a fast paced, high volume and relationship focused environment.

  • Experience in healthcare recruitment, workforce coordination, labour hire or agency staffing would be highly regarded.

  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems would be highly regarded.

  • A background or qualification in nursing, healthcare, recruitment or a related field would be highly regarded.

What We Offer

  • Ongoing professional development, mentorship and training opportunities.

  • Friday Fun Day – from colour themes to PJ days, no two weeks look the same!

  • Chance for your pup to apply for our CHO – Chief Happiness Officer position and join the pup schedule for office days.

  • WFH flexibility with up to two days per week to support your work-life balance.

  • The opportunity to work in a meaningful industry supporting nurses, hospitals and communities across Australia.

Why Join Affinity?

This is an opportunity to join an Australian owned, relationship led business with more than 20 years of experience supporting nurses and health services across regional, rural and remote Australia.
