Burrito Bar Gympie is looking for an energetic and reliable Cook to join our team. We are famous for our fresh, flavorful Mexican-inspired street food, and we need someone who can maintain that high standard while working in a fast-paced, vibrant environment.

You’ll be responsible for prepping fresh ingredients, smashing out orders during the rush, and ensuring every burrito, taco, and bowl that leaves the kitchen looks and tastes amazing

Task & responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Monitor food stock and place orders as needed
• Properly maintaining  and regulating the temperatures of ovens, grill and other cooking equipment.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service
• Knowledge of food safety regulations
• Proper storage and rotation of food as per their temperature requirements
• Prepare food as per the customer's special dietary requirements 
• Proper portioning of food and plating to ensure consistent quantity and quality every time.
• Assist the management on regular specials of the day/week

Qualification & experience

Education: A Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (formerly Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery) or a higher qualification (such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management).   

Experience: A minimum of one year of full-time (FT) experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
