Chatpatta Kitchen is a popular Indian restaurant in Jandakot, Western Australia, specialising in authentic Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine. Due to increasing customer demand, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef/Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and cooking Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes to restaurant standards
- Follow recipes, instructions, and portion control to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
- Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and service delivery
- Prepare ingredients including chopping, marinating, and sauce preparation
- Cook and plate dishes during busy service periods in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Assist with stock control, storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chef or kitchen supervisor
- Support end-of-shift cleaning and kitchen organisation duties
- Contribute to smooth teamwork and efficient kitchen workflow
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Team player with good communication skills
- Availability to work full-time, including weekends and evenings
