Burro is a thriving, high-volume neighborhood café and restaurant located just a stone's throw from the vibrant Henley Beach coastline .

Known for our  passionate dedication to our Italian culinary heritage, we bring a piece of a bustling New York borough to the western suburbs of Adelaide .

We are currently seeking a skilled, passionate, and energetic Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a wide range of menu items, including our signature house-made cotoletta, authentic Neapolitan sauces end our premium panini fillings. Task & responsibilities

•Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare, season, and cook high-qualitydishes, including artisanal paninis, house-made cotolettas, and specialty breakfast items, ensuring consistent taste and presentation .

•Quality Control: Examine and inspect all incoming foodstuffs and ingredients to ensure absolute freshness, premium quality, and correct specifications .

•Equipment Operation: Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, panini presses, and other specialized cooking equipment to maintain optimal cooking conditions .

•Portion & Presentation: Portion food accurately, arrange dishes professionally on plates, and apply appropriate garnishes, gravies, and sauces .

•Inventory & Storage: Store food and raw ingredients in temperature-controlled facilities in strict compliance with food safety standards .

•Dietary Requirements: Prepare specialized food items to accommodate customer dietary requirements, allergies, and intolerances .

•Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and highly organized kitchen workstation, complying with all local food hygiene and health regulations .

•Team Collaboration: Assist in planning menus, estimating food requirements, and training junior kitchen staff or apprentices where required .


Qualification & experience

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria :

•Formal Education: An AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (including at least two years of on-the-job training) or an AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent international qualification) .

•Professional Experience: In lieu of formal qualifications, a minimum of three (3) years of relevant full-time experience as a Cook in a fast-paced, high-volume café or restaurant environment may be accepted

•Technical Skills: Strong knife skills, a deep understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, and experience in Italian-influenced cuisine or premium sandwich/panini preparation are highly regarded .
