Task & responsibilities

• Examine foodstuff to ensure quality, freshness, and consistency
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with our menu and standards
• Season food appropriately during preparation and cooking
• Portion and plate dishes with attention to presentation, including sauces and garnishes
• Store food in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety standards
• Prepare meals to meet special requirements where required
• Assist with menu planning and estimating food requirements
• Supporting the training and supervision of junior kitchen staff and apprentices

Qualification & experience

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery
• Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment (fusion or modern cuisine highly regarded)
• Knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
