The successful candidate will assist in preparing authentic Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency. Task & responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes and restaurant menu items 
• Assisting in daily kitchen operations and food preparation activities 
• Ensuring food is prepared and presented to high quality standards 
• Monitoring portion control, food preparation, and plating consistency 
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and food preparation areas 
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations 
• Checking freshness and quality of ingredients and food supplies 
• Assisting with stock rotation, storage, and inventory management 
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently 
• Supporting kitchen staff during busy service periods 
• Minimising food wastage and maintaining cost-effective kitchen practices 
• Following kitchen procedures and maintaining consistent food quality standards 

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or related qualification preferred 
• At least 1 years of relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen
• Experience preparing Indian cuisine and traditional curries preferred 
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices 
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment 
• Strong teamwork and communication skills 
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy service periods
