The Position

Business is seeking a qualified and experienced Cook on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in food preparation and service, ensuring quality and consistency across the menu. As a cook at Twisted Zest Cafe and Resturant, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards and provide support to chefs to develop new menu. You will work in a fast paced , dynamic environment where collaboration, creativity and attention to detail is the key.

Task & responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities are, but not limited not:

Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menu and quality standards.

• Maintain portion control, food safety, and hygiene standards.
• Assist in menu planning, stock ordering, and inventory management.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering, and minimise wastage
• Work collaboratively with chefs, kitchen hands, and front-of-house staff.
• Cook the right portion to avoid wastage.
• Assist new cook and other staff
• Maintain the quality of food by cooking at adequate temperature.
• Store the food at adequate temperature.
• Report to chef about any potential risk at workplace and try to minimise it by implementing work and safety policies

Qualification & experience

Skills & Experience Required

• PR/Citizens will be preferred  and are encouraged to apply.
• Relevant Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV
• Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Relevant cookery qualifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, safety, and hygiene.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a busy environment.
• Team player with reliability and a strong work ethic.
