Task & responsibilities

1. Analyse, interpret and evaluate detailed system architecture specifications, technical diagrams, and integration documentation to support the development and configuration of secure networked systems.
2. Design and implement scalable Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and hybrid cloud connectivity solutions aligned with organisational and client operational requirements.
3. Research, assess and continuously evaluate network infrastructure performance, ensuring systems operate at optimal efficiency, reliability, and resilience.
4. Install, configure, test and administer new and upgraded networking environments, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, servers, and associated workstations.
5. Integrate networking components with enterprise applications, database environments, and operating systems to ensure seamless system functionality.
6. Monitor network traffic, bandwidth utilisation, capacity thresholds, and system activity to maintain performance integrity and prevent service degradation.
7. Conduct advanced troubleshooting and provide specialist technical support during incidents, outages, or infrastructure emergencies.
8. Assess existing network operations and recommend improvements across hardware platforms, communications systems, software configurations, and operating environments.
9. Develop and implement network programming and automation scripts to address specific business requirements and enhance configuration management efficiency.
10. Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network inventories, topology diagrams, maintenance procedures, change logs, and detailed records of diagnostics and fault resolution activities.
11. Support compliance with cybersecurity and information governance standards through secure configuration and access control management.

Qualification & experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of practical experience in enterprise networking environments.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting capabilities.
