The West Australian Institute of Further Studies (WAIFS) is a Registered Training Organisation located in the heart of Perth. WAIFS has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality education to both local and international students. As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking Full-time or part time Trainers and Assessors to deliver and assess CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services, Roles are available from Monday to Friday 8.30a.m to 5.00pm. Full time or part time roles are available to start immediately.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and passionate Vocational Education Trainers who hold the required qualifications and relevant industry experience to effectively deliver these courses. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a student-centred approach, and a commitment to maintaining high training standards. This is a part-time role, working four days per week, with classes scheduled on Thursday and Friday. This role will require visits to work placement settings so professionalism is key and strong industry contacts are desirable.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services and/or CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services, or equivalent

  • TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or above)

  • 3-5 years' work experience in a relevant role in the Community Sector

  • Understanding of the international student market and experience supporting international students

  • Desirable experience in training and assessing students in vocational education settings

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery

  • Deliver theoretical and practical training

  • Engage students through hands-on activities such as simulations, role-plays, and case studies

Assessment & Student Support

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ understanding of community service principles

  • Provide constructive feedback to ensure students meet competency requirements

  • Monitor student attendance, progress, and assessment outcomes

  • Develop and maintain close industry links and undertake work-based training assessment

Compliance & Professional Development

  • Ensure all training and assessments align with ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) standards

  • Update course materials to reflect changes in legislation and industry best practices

  • Stay informed about developments in the community services sector

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain industry currency and training qualifications

Remuneration
