About the Position
Reporting to the Production Manager, the CNC Programmer is responsible for generating CNC programs manually and or by using CAD/CAM software (SURFCAM) for all machining operations across:
- Double head rail milling machine
- SIEMENS Line Machine
- FANUC 9m
- FAGOR 12m
- Vertical milling machine(VMC)
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- 2D drafting and 3D modelling of products for CNC machining;
- Proving of all CNC programs before release for general use;
- Testing programs and closely monitoring machine operators during initial physical proofing;
- Carrying out ongoing reviewing of all CNC programs and making suitable alterations to programs as required;
- Controlling and cataloguing CNC documentation, programs, and resisters to meet company requirements of security, access, reference, and backup;
- Identifying and implementing production improvements in the machining function;
- Identifying, designing and arranging manufacture of machine tooling and jigs;
- Liaising with Production Manager, Supervisors and Engineering department with regard to matters such as production methods, standards, specifications, interpretation of drawings and similar.
About You
To be successful in the CNC Programmer position with the voestalpine Railway Systems team, you will need:
- Solid experience in programming for Heavy Industry (Rail industry highly regarded);
- Have a strong understanding of technical drawing and manufacturing processes;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Strong problem solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Have a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to motivate and collaborate with various teams to achieve the desired outcome;
- Ability to provide technical support to machine operators.
