Role Description

The Clinical Governance Committee Chair will:

• Lead the Clinical Governance Committee, including setting agendas and facilitating effective meetings

• Provide oversight of clinical quality, safety, and risk management frameworks

• Monitor compliance with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission standards and reporting obligations

• Support the Board in understanding clinical performance, risks, and improvement opportunities

• Oversee incident management, including SIRS reporting and clinical governance systems

• Provide constructive challenge and guidance to management on clinical matters

• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement

As a Non-Executive Director, you will also:

• Contribute to Board oversight of strategy, risk, and organisational performance

• Act in the best interests of the organisation and its stakeholders

• Support effective governance, decision-making, and Board dynamics

Time Commitment & Remuneration:

• Board Meetings: Monthly

• Committee meetings: Bimonthly

• Additional preparation and occasional Board engagement required

• Remuneration in line with organisation policy

The role requires on-site attendance in West Gosford, NSW; candidates should be located within a practical driving distance.

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will bring:

• Significant experience in clinical governance, healthcare, or aged care

• Experience at Board or Committee level (Chair experience highly regarded)

• Strong understanding of clinical risk, quality systems, and regulatory frameworks

• Ability to interpret clinical data and provide strategic oversight

• Demonstrated ability to facilitate robust, constructive discussion

• Independence, sound judgement, and high ethical standards

Desirable:

• Clinical background (e.g. nursing, medicine, allied health)

• Experience in aged care or similarly regulated sectors

• Local to the Central Coast

• GAICD or MAICD
