Carestays is seeking an experienced and motivated Client Services Manager to lead the establishment and ongoing operation of our newest Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Short-Term Accommodation (STA) site in Mentone.
We are targeting a late July / early August commencement of operations and are looking for someone who wants to be involved before the doors officially open.
This is not a role where you simply inherit an existing site and maintain it.
We are looking for someone capable of helping oversee the final setup and completion stages of the facility, assisting with operational implementation, recruiting and building their own team, and helping establish a strong, positive, and vibrant workplace culture from day one.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to genuinely help shape and put their name to something significant.
About the SiteThe Mentone location is a substantial former nursing home currently undergoing significant transformation and redevelopment, and is intended to become Carestays’ flagship site and long-term showcase location.
The property features:
16 bedrooms
A full commercial kitchen
Separate residents’ kitchen
Multiple indoor lounge and living areas
Large outdoor and garden spaces
Significant room for future lifestyle and day program initiatives
Our vision is for the site to become the crown jewel of the Carestays group — a premium environment that feels more like a high-end retreat or boutique hotel than a traditional “facility.”
Presentation, atmosphere, culture, and client experience are extremely important to us. We are intentionally creating an environment that feels welcoming, warm, professional, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time in — for both clients and staff.
This is not simply another accommodation service. We are aiming to create a benchmark for what high-quality supported accommodation can look and feel like.
The site has also been designed with future growth in mind, including the planned introduction of lifestyle and day service programs aimed at creating a more engaging, social, and fulfilling experience for clients.
About the RoleThe Client Services Manager will play a key leadership role in preparing the site for launch and establishing the operational foundations that will support its long-term success.
You will work closely with senior leadership and head office while maintaining significant autonomy over the operation of the site itself.
This role requires someone commercially minded, highly accountable, solutions-focused, and passionate about building high-performing teams and environments.
We are looking for someone who sees potential, takes pride in ownership, and wants to help create something people will talk positively about.
ImportantThis is not an entry-level management role, nor a role suited to someone without substantial leadership and operational management experience.
We are seeking someone with strong organisational ability, excellent leadership skills, and the confidence to oversee a large and dynamic site from its establishment phase through to full operation.
The successful applicant must be capable of:
Managing and building large teams
Creating structure, accountability, and culture
Handling competing operational priorities
Maintaining high presentation and compliance standards
Problem-solving independently
Leading with professionalism, maturity, and consistency
This role requires someone highly organised, proactive, and capable of operating at a senior management level.
Experience overseeing complex operations, healthcare environments, hospitality operations, disability services, aged care, or multi-department teams will be highly regarded.
We are not simply looking for someone to “fill shifts” or supervise staff. We are looking for someone capable of helping establish a flagship service and leading it with pride, professionalism, and ownership.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the final setup and operational readiness of the new site
Recruit, onboard, and lead your own team
Establish a positive, accountable, and team-oriented workplace culture
Oversee day-to-day operations of the SIL/STA facility
Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and organisational policies
Assist in implementing systems, procedures, and operational workflows
Drive high standards of presentation, professionalism, and client experience
Assist in the future development of lifestyle and day service programs
Support occupancy growth and future development opportunities
Work collaboratively with head office and senior leadership
This role would suit someone with experience in:
Disability services
Healthcare or nursing leadership
Aged care

Business development
Operational or multi-site management
Most importantly, you are someone who:
Enjoys building and improving systems
Takes ownership and accountability seriously
Is confident managing people and performance
Leads by example
Wants to create a positive and motivated team culture
Understands the importance of presentation and client experience
Is excited by the challenge of building something from the ground up
Opportunity to lead and help establish Carestays’ future flagship site
Strong support from head office and senior leadership
Ability to shape systems, culture, and team structure from inception
Significant autonomy and input into operations
Long-term growth opportunities within Carestays
A chance to create something you can genuinely be proud of
You will become part of an amazing team that genuinely cares about client experiences, quality of life, and long-term outcomes.
At Carestays, we are passionate about creating environments that clients enjoy being part of — places that feel welcoming, engaging, respectful, and empowering, rather than institutional.
We are looking for leaders who share those values and want to help build a culture where both clients and staff feel supported, valued, and proud to be part of the organisation.
Support is provided through:
Dedicated Site Coordinators
Operations Management support
Head Office administration and compliance assistance
Ongoing leadership collaboration
Carestays is a growing NDIS accommodation provider focused on delivering Supported Independent Living and respite services in environments that feel welcoming, professional, and genuinely supportive.
Our vision is to create homes that feel more like boutique accommodation or retreats than traditional facilities, while maintaining strong operational and compliance standards behind the scenes.
