Description:

REZZ Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join its kitchen team. Known for delivering quality dining experiences in a vibrant hospitality setting, the venue offers a diverse menu prepared with fresh ingredients and a strong focus on consistency and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation, and ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are followed at all times. The Chef will work closely with the team to support smooth kitchen operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences to guests. Previous experience in a similar role and a passion for cooking are essential.

Task & responsibilities

  • Plan and develop menus, estimate food and labour costs, and manage the procurement and inventory of ingredients, kitchen supplies, and equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality, consistency, and presentation of dishes throughout all stages of preparation, cooking, and service.
  • Liaise with management, dietitians, kitchen personnel, and service staff to coordinate food production and meet operational requirements.
  • Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide training, guidance, and support to kitchen staff to ensure adherence to established standards and procedures.
  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, quality standards, and service timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and supervision of kitchen staff as required.
  • Oversee food storage, preservation, stock control, and handling procedures, including freezing, thawing, and stock rotation practices to minimise waste and maintain product quality.

Qualification & experience

  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent work experience. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in related position.
  • In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
