Chaap Junction, WA, 6101, a well-regarded establishment known for its hearty meals and friendly atmosphere, is seeking a full-time qualified Chef to join our kitchen team. We are a popular dining venue catering to locals, travellers, and tourists, offering reliable classic dishes and seasonal specials. This full-time role provides the chance to work in a supportive, fast-paced kitchen environment where you can showcase your culinary skills, contribute to a valued menu, and develop your career with a respected regional business.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan, prepare, and cook a diverse range of dishes from the menu, covering all meal periods and service requirements.
  • Ensure all dishes are consistently prepared, presented, and delivered to a high culinary standard.
  • Oversee daily food preparation, portioning, and plating for breakfast, dinner, and special services.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control while maintaining speed and efficiency during service.
  • Plan and create menus using seasonal ingredients and introduce new dishes.
  • Supervise stock control, storage practices, and rotation to minimise waste and maintain kitchen organisation.
  • Enforce strict compliance with food safety, hygiene regulations, and workplace health & safety requirements.
  • Train, mentor, and guide junior kitchen staff during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organisation of all kitchen areas and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years full-time experience working as a Chef in a similar commercial kitchen environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain high standards under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of safe food handling procedures and kitchen hygiene practices.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
