Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, season and cook food in accordance with menu requirements and recipes 
• Plan and assist with menu development and seasonal specials 
• Ensure food presentation and quality standards are maintained consistently 
• Monitor portion control and minimise food wastage 
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout kitchen operations 
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards 
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control 
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management to ensure efficient service delivery 
• Assist with training and supervision of junior kitchen staff where required 

Qualification & experience

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess:

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or related field, and/or relevant work experience 
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef or similar role 
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations 
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment 
• Excellent organisational and communication skills 
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required 
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
