We are looking for a skilled and reliable professional who can prepare quality breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes, support menu consistency, and contribute to the smooth running of a busy café kitchen.
Salary: AUD 80,000 to 85,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:
Preparing, seasoning, cooking and presenting café breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes to Perk & Palate’s standards.
Planning and preparing food for daily service, including mise en place and portion control.
Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials.
Monitoring food quality, presentation, stock rotation and wastage.
Ensuring food is prepared safely and in accordance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Supervising and supporting cooks, kitchenhands and junior kitchen staff during service.
Managing kitchen workflow during peak periods.
Checking stock levels and assisting with ordering food and kitchen supplies.
Maintaining cleanliness of workstations, cooking equipment, cool rooms and storage areas.
Skills and Experience:
Relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent industry experience.
At least 2 years’ experience as a chef in a café, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen hygiene and food safety.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced café environment.
Ability to supervise and train junior kitchen staff.
Good communication skills and reliable availability.
